Back in August I went down to Jeju island with a friend and fellow photographer Dylan Goldby for a photo trip. I gave a few cinemagraphs a try in between shots. We spent most of our time near water so the options for subjects was a bit limited, but I’m quite happy with the few that I got!
Seoul Cinemagraphs
Last year I went for a walk around these old apartment buildings in Seoul that were in a total state of ruin, but still had people living in them with families and cars. I was curious and wanted to check it out. I also ended up walking around town a bit shooting some cinemagraphs. I have been looking for a good way to get them to work online for cheap or free and finally found a good solution, so I’m finally uploading these to my website and ditching the awful gif format. Enjoy!
Jess and Steve's Seoul Engagement Photos and Cinemagraphs
Last year I shot some engagement photos for Singaporean couple Jess and Steve. They were travelling with a concept in mind which is great for me. A client with a clear idea helps you form a clearer concept and are simply more fun to work with. They wanted to shoot in various cities like they were "travelling through time." The idea was to shoot in a historical and a modern setting for various countries, and they hit me up for Seoul. What made this shoot more fun and challenging was that they wanted cinemagraphs as well, which is an uncommon request, specially for a couple.
Pyeongchang Cinemagraphs Part 2
Here's the last remaining Cinemagraphs. Looking forward to making some more soon.
Pyeongchang Cinemagraphs Part 1
I really enjoyed making the cinemagraphs last time and a lot of people found them interesting so I decided I would be doing a lot more of this, specially while travelling.
Some Time in Sokcho
At the end of last month Yvonne and I took a trip to Korea's East coast to see the beach and climb up the famous Seorak mountain where we had been almost 4 years ago.
Cinemagraphs
So I'm opening up this blog to post other work that goes beyond just photographs. First up are some cinemagraphs that I created with Yvonne this week by Naksan beach one rainy night.
