Last year I shot some engagement photos for Singaporean couple Jess and Steve. They were travelling with a concept in mind which is great for me. A client with a clear idea helps you form a clearer concept and are simply more fun to work with. They wanted to shoot in various cities like they were "travelling through time." The idea was to shoot in a historical and a modern setting for various countries, and they hit me up for Seoul. What made this shoot more fun and challenging was that they wanted cinemagraphs as well, which is an uncommon request, specially for a couple.
We shot at the Sevitt floating islands for a modern setting, and at a small pagoda at Seoul Forest park for the historical one. Jess and Steve were comfortable in front of the camera, had lots of creative ideas and were a joy to work with.
Seoul was their first stop for this project so I suppose I was kind of setting a bar for this. It's still not easy to find people who make cinemagraphs since it's a lot of work, specially if you're doing them manually and not with Flixel, which can make your job easier but doesn't allow as much control as doing it by hand through After Effects.
Anywho here are our non-moving images from the shoot!
